I shed a little tear

Woodland Cemetery was very peaceful this Labour Day. I think we saw more deer than we did people. We walked around for a while. The sun was hot but there were loads of shady trees, particularly very big walnuts.

After a phone call to Diane we found my grandfather’s grave, which I had visited in 2005 and where we had left some of my grandmother’s ashes. I was very moved to find a plaque bearing her name there this time. What a very kind thing for our Canadian relatives to have done, for her, for my father and for all of us. I had a little cry on Roger’s shoulder, and we took some pictures. I’m very glad we went. We drove around for a bit and saw the city centre. Empty because of bank holiday, of course. Also showed Roger the River Thames!
