Then we wandered down Whyte Street - lots of one-off interresting shops including a second-hand bookshop where Ernie bought Roger a volume of Carl Sandburg poems and me a booked called The Magnificent Mountain Women.
Lunch was a steak sandwich, then home via the supermarket for barbecued salmon that Ernie and his friends caught on a fishing trip to British Columbia, a peruse of each other's family photos (Ernie's parents were Ukrainian - very interesting) and a game of cards.
